8 Ball Pool Game Review
8 Ball Pool Game is an all-online game and there are no computer-generated characters to play against. All players are pitted against other live players within the online network. Naturally, a good Internet connection is required to be able to play.
As the name of the game denotes, 8 Ball Pool is all about playing rounds of simple 8 ball. The rules are simple and easy to follow for those who aren’t very familiar with this classic billiards game. After a quick tutorial the game sets players free to play online with random players or with their friends on Facebook or those with Miniclip accounts.
8 Ball Pool Game Features:
- Play with friends
- Refine your skills in the practice arena
- Customize your cue and table
- Tournaments have arrived! Compete against 7 other players in exciting tournaments and win each tier’s trophy!
The game isn’t graphically stunning, although it doesn’t really matter: after all, we are talking about an addictive top-down view pool game. What’s really matters in this genre is the controls’ responsiveness, which is good enough to have a blast.
There was no music to this game, which made it feel very bland and dull which was not something I enjoyed whilst playing, I suppose I can understand the need for quiet whilst concentration, but there was not option to even have music. The only sound the game really seemed to have was the irritating clicking noises of the balls hitting each other. The lack of music and irritating sound made this an unenjoyable dull game to me.
I give the game a 3/10 for its story and originality; the tabletop sports games have been way too overplayed and don’t really feel all that relevant to the younger generations who do hold a large portion of the app market audience. Also, the game does not have any kind of backstory to it, which it could feasibly do by showing that you are promoting some imaginary pool player by honing his skills.
RevisedApps Conclusion
Overall 8 Ball Pool Game is a very fun and simple virtual pool game. With the right Internet connection it provides many hours of friendly competition. The game is only $0.99 but also has in-app purchases to buy more chips and other items. The presence of in-app purchases can be off-putting to some but luckily they aren’t required to advance. Anyone looking for a worthy iOS billiards game will definitely want to check this one out.
